Long Term Care: Getting The Help You Paid For

In the United States nearly 10 million people each year need some form of long-term care. Of those 6 million are over the age 65. The U.S Department of Health and Human Services estimates that almost 70% of individuals turning 65 will need long-term care at some point in their lives. It is very common that without some extra help seniors will not be able to get the care they need. Medicare, which helps pay for health care for people over the age of 65, people under 65 with certain disabilities, states on its website that is does not pay for the largest part of long-term care services such has bathing, or other “custodial care” needs. Because of this many seniors are left without the appropriate care they need.
